In the current site of the company the industrial production has started at the end of the 19th century, particularly in 1894 , by establishing Sänger mechanical weaving factory.
1904: | The weaving factory was purchased by Schelling u. Stäubli and rebuilt from textile to engineering plant, engaged in production of leaf moulds for weaving industry. In 1910 the former owners established grey cast iron foundry here. |
1915: |
The company changed its owner and name. The company continued under brand new name Mautner, making even more changes in the production assortment. In 1920 malleable iron foundry was established and production of fittings was initiated (not only in terms of casting, but also machining and galvanizing). In the same period the company started production of weaving looms.

1939: | History brought another change – the company again changed its owner and it was also renamed to Eisenverke - Sandau A.G. E. Luft in the register of companies. In the course of the World War II the plant was mainly used for war production, especially for machining of grenade bodies and assembly of lighting elements. The foundry produced castings for other companies operating in military industries in Germany. |
1945: |
Production of castings from forging and malleable iron started and the company, under the name Žandovské železárny got under national control. On October 28th, 1945 the company was nationalized on the basis of the presidential decree. At that time production of weaving looms, foundry machinery and equipment and fittings continued.

1946-47: | The company was renamed again and it was incorporated to a group of 16 plants under the name Severočeské strojírny a slévárny. |
1947: | The production of fittings moved to Moravské ocelárny Olomouc and manufacturing of foundry machinery moved to plant Alba Hořovice. |

The plant got a new name Textilstroj n.p. It continued with production of fully automatic weaving looms and castings from gray cast and tempered iron. In1949 the foundry started to produce insulator fittings (cap-type insulators) for Elektroporcelán Louny.

Under the name Atmos n.p., the company discontinued production of weaving looms and initiated production of small piston compressors. In order to eliminate dependence of the production on import of valves from Austria, production of plate valves was initiated in 1953 . In 1958 1958 a branch plant in Chrást u Plzně and in 1963 also a branch plant in Krásná Lípa were incorporated to Atmos n.p. Žandov.

The plant was incorporated into ČKD Praha o.p. under the new name ČKD Žandov, n.p., at that time engaged in production of piston and vane-type rotary compressors and castings from grey cast and tempered iron. In the seventies and eighties about 4200 rotary and 1700 piston compressors were produced on annual basis, in about 20 various design versions. At that time the company employed more than 1000 employees.

1988: | ČKD Žandov, n.p. was incorporated, as one of the 24 operating units, in the newly established state company ČKD Praha - kombinát. |

After privatization, the public limited corporation ČKD Žandov, a.s. was founded.

1998: | J.P. Sauer und Sohn Maschinenbau GmbH from Germany acquired a majority share in ČKD Žandov, a.s., making it a member of the Sauer Compressors Group. |
Since January 15th, 1999 the company has been operating under the name Sauer Žandov, a.s. The main production assortment are the piston compressors. Currently the company is producing about 4000 compressors in about 40 design versions every year. The company has more than 150 employees.
