R-404A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) blend refrigerant composed of R-125, R-134a, and R-143a. It was developed to replace R-502 and R-22, which are used in commercial refrigeration equipment for low and medium temperature ranges.
It is a non-flammable refrigerant with low toxicity, has an ASHRAE A1 safety classification, and has similar properties to the refrigerant it replaces.
Its properties make it ideal for use in display cases, refrigerated vehicles, ice makers, and other applications.
