Business Development Manager (m/f/d) Global Account/Applications

In the course of succession planning due to retirement we are looking for the earliest possible date for a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) Global Account/Global Applications. This position will report directly to the Global Business Development Manager Industry.


Job description

As Business Development Manager (m/f/d) you will participate in the creation of the global strategy in the field of technical gases and feel responsible for implementing this strategy globally. You are searching after global accounts in the field of technical gases, but should primarily acquire new global accounts. You are the first point of contact for these global accounts and work closely with the local Area/Territory/Regional Sales Managers (m/f/d) of the Sauer Compressors Group when implementing leads and opportunities. This job is characterized by a high willingness to travel and intercultural sensitivity.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management and acquisition of global accounts in the field of technical gases
  • Advising the global accounts with regard to the portfolio of the Sauer Compressors Group, but no active sale with conclusion
  • Checking the technical feasibility of customer requirements in cooperation with the respective teams (Product Management/ Sales Application Engineering)
  • Achieving a high level of customer satisfaction over the entire lifecycle of the global accounts
  • Support for local Business Development/Area Sales Managers (m/f/d)
  • Contact person for the strategy in the field of technical gases for our foreign partners and sister companies
  • Accompanying or conducting kick-off meetings with relevant departments
  • Participation and speaker at international trade fairs, conferences and sales events


Education & Expectations

  • Completed technical or technical-commercial degree (e.g. industrial engineering, process engineering)
  • Thoroughbred salesman with sales deals
  • Communication expert with intercultural sensitivity
  • Joy in the sale of technically demanding capital goods that require explanation
  • Ideally, experience in the field of compression of technical gases (process, sales) with different operating principles
  • Ability to work in a team
  • High self-motivation and independent way of working
  • Good to very good written and spoken English, other languages of advantage
  • Proficient knowledge of the use of MS Office
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel
  • Place of residence in Europe, preferably Germany
