Destroyers and Frigates

Sauer Compressors offers a range of top-quality, highly-reliable naval compressors for use on warships. They can be used on a variety of vessels including DDGs (guided-missile destroyers) such as the Italian Francesco Mimbelli, FFGs (guided-missile frigates) such as the Norwegian Fritjof Nansen or FFLs (light frigates) such as the German K130 class.

In terms of their basic design, Sauer’s naval compressors are clearly distinct from the company’s industrial solutions. Given that they are used on ships where men and women are faced with real battle situations, they are built to the very highest specifications and offer the very ultimate in reliability. As such, they are the best solutions available on the market.

Our wealth of experience, ongoing development work and renowned international customers whose fleets use our systems have made Sauer Compressors the world leader when it comes to compressors for all types of destroyers and frigates.

Advantages of Sauer compressors:

Sauer naval compressors comply with all major shockproofing standards. Their low level of structure-borne noise makes them ideal for use on ASW (anti-submarine warfare) vessels.

All of Sauer’s naval compressors are designed to offer uncompromising reliability, toughness and minimal operating costs. Exceptionally long MTBM and MTBR intervals play an important part in keeping costs down.

All units can be delivered as complete, ready-to-use systems with the dryer, control boxes and other accessories mounted on a common frame. All equipment is fully tested and easy to install.

Sauer is also promoting its Centralised Air System (-> link to extra page with benefits of Centralised System) which provides an alternative to using dedicated point-of-use compressors for the various functions on board such vessels. This offers considerable benefits in terms of reliability, logistics and the maintenance costs over the system’s operating life.

Complete NATO codification and full logistical back-up ensure the high level of support required by naval fleets.
